OUR STORY

It started with a rough shave.

We'd been shaving the same way for years — the usual gels and foams, the usual razor burn — until we started seeing tallow appear in skincare. Around the same time, someone in the family was rendering tallow into lotion at home. After one particularly rough shave, we asked for a scoop.

Batch No. 1 · June 13, 2025

That first batch wasn't supposed to work. It did. The shave was calm, the skin was soft, the face felt tamed. We didn't expect a kitchen mix to feel that good — but it did, and we knew we had something.

TWENTY-PLUS BATCHES BEFORE WE GOT HERE

The next twenty batches

From there it became weekly tuning. Tweaking ratios. Sourcing better tallow. Shaving the same faces over and over to feel small differences. Three months and twenty-plus batches later, we landed on something worth selling.

Today's Batch

What's in the jar now is the result of all of that — grass-fed Canadian tallow, sandalwood essential oil, and the smallest list of ingredients we could get away with while still making it shave like it does.

Why Tallow

Tallow's been used in grooming for centuries because it works with skin instead of fighting it. It's a fat that closely matches the fat your skin already produces, which is why it absorbs cleanly and feels like nothing afterward — not greasy, not tight, not anything. Just calm. We source ours from Canadian cattle on open pastures. Slow-rendered, never the cheap stuff.
